Former Packer Collegiate Institute employee in Brooklyn, Nicolas Morton, allegedly made boys run until exhaustion unless they exposed themselves to him, according to prosecutors.
Former Packer Collegiate Institute Admissions Officer and Baseball Coach, Nicolas Morton, 31, has been charged with the sexual abuse of multiple children who were part of his teams. The Brooklyn district attorney’s office revealed that Morton made sexual comments, pressured players to expose themselves, and touched their intimate parts during his time coaching at the private school. The incidents allegedly took place in the school gym and various Brooklyn ball fields from early 2023 to the summer of the same year. The victims, aged between 12 and 14, were mostly members of Packer’s team and a travel squad that Morton coached.
The Brooklyn district attorney, Eric Gonzalez, emphasized that coaches are meant to nurture young talents, not exploit them for personal satisfaction. The case against Morton includes a 20-count indictment, with charges ranging from second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child to first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. During his court appearance, Morton pleaded not guilty and appeared solemn as he stood next to his lawyer, wearing a blue checked shirt, while his family watched from the gallery.
The allegations against Morton shed light on the severe impact of such abusive behavior on vulnerable youth. It is crucial to address and prevent such incidents to protect children from harm and ensure a safe environment in educational and sports settings.
