Anticipated Rain Forecast for Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Expect over 0.5 inches of rain in Manhattan on Thursday.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Weather Forecast

If you are planning to attend Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this Thursday, be prepared for some light rain throughout the event. The National Weather Service predicts that the rain will start before dawn and will continue as the parade makes its way south through Manhattan. William Churchill, a forecaster at the National Weather Service, suggests that the rain will taper off around noon, coinciding with the end of the parade.

The rain is expected to be more than usual for Thanksgiving, but this is mainly because this time of year is typically dry. Temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s, with windchill making it feel even colder. It is advisable to dress warmly and bring a raincoat, as Macy’s has recommended against bringing umbrellas to the parade.

In terms of precipitation, the early morning rainfall is expected to be less than a tenth of an inch, with a total accumulation of just over half an inch. The forecast also includes a light easterly wind of around 10 miles per hour, which may pick up to 25 or 30 mph after the parade.

So, if you plan on attending the parade, be prepared for some wet and chilly conditions. Dress appropriately and make sure to stay warm and dry throughout the event.
